INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLIES: Tariq Lamptey out of USA and Mexico ties?

By Michael Mensah Martey

Black Stars defender, Tariq Lamptey, might not play in the next international friendlies against Mexico and the United States.

The defender is one of the 23 players Chris Hughton, head coach of the Black Stars, has invited for the October international break.

The in-form player was anticipated to play for Brighton & Hove Albion this weekend against Liverpool in the English Premier League.

Tariq Lamptey was left off of Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi’s team before the game.

Roberto De Zerbi explained the choice in a pre-game interview, saying that the defender had to leave the team because he had taken a knock.

On Monday, October 8, Tariq Lamptey, 23, will likely have some tests done to determine the severity of the injuries.
