Pobi: Coaches are not sold at Makola market to rush the process in finding a new one

According to Ghanaian football administrator, Jonathan Abbey Pobi, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) must take its time in finding a replacement for sacked Ghanaian coach CK Akonnor.

Mr. Pobi said there was no need to rush in the selection of a new coach because we need technical men to take their time in selecting the best person for the job.

Speaking on an Accra based Radio station, he said that selecting a Ghanaian coach is not like a product being sold at Makola Market for the GFA to give the committee 72 hours to find a new coach.

Mr. Pobi said, “we have to take our time in selecting a new coach. There is no need to rush. Why are we rushing? Coaches are not sold in Makola Market for you to give somebody 72 hours to search for a new coach. We need to do the proper thing.”

According to him, the GFA must allow Prof. Mintah to take over in the interim until a better person is selected for the job.

“In the meantime, we need to allow Prof. Mintah to take over the national team. After that, we have to set up a technical committee to find a new and better coach. We need to take our time or we will find a replacement but sack him just like we have done to CK Akonnor,” he added.
