The Ghana Football Association has accepted the public resignation of Laryea Kingston as head coach of the national men’s U-17 team of Ghana, the Black Starlets.
Kingston, 43, surprised Ghanaians on the night of Saturday, May 25, 2024, with an announcement of his resignation following his side’s heartbreaking failure to reach the U-17 AFCON.
According to the Ghana Football Association, Coach Laryea Kingston failed to show up for the evening team meeting after he did not ride back to the team hotel on the bus.
His actions have obviously not impressed the top brass at the home of Ghana’s football handlers, the GFA.
Ghana’s subsequent match against Nigeria in the 3rd and 4th place round will be handled by the current assistant coaches of the Black Starlets.
