The group stage draw for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) was done on Thursday in Abidjan, and Ghana will play Egypt in that tournament.
Ghana, a four-time winner, is ready to revive their long-standing rivalry with Egypt, the side that holds the record for having won the most AFCON championships with seven.
Egypt’s most recent success in the competition came in the final, which was held in Angola in 2010 and saw them defeat Ghana 1-0.
In addition to Cape Verde and Mozambique, Ghana’s opponents in Group B promise an interesting and difficult road to the championship.
Beginning on January 13, 2024, the 2023 AFCON will run through February 11, 2024, with the final game.
