Over the weekend, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), celebrated his birthday in a unique way. He chose to spend the day at the Maternity Block of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, alongside new mothers and hospital staff.

Expressing his desire to immerse himself in the experience of childbirth after nine months of pregnancy, President Simeon-Okraku embarked on this meaningful visit. However, during his time there, he learned of a distressing situation: several mothers were unable to leave the hospital due to unpaid medical bills.

Deeply moved by this revelation, President Simeon-Okraku took immediate action. He personally covered the medical expenses of some of these mothers, providing relief to 31 beneficiaries. His compassionate gesture aimed to alleviate the financial strain on these women, enabling them to return home to their families without the burden of unpaid bills.

The emotional impact of President Simeon-Okraku’s generosity was palpable as the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude and well wishes on his birthday. Witnessing their heartfelt reactions, he generously contributed a significant sum to further support these mothers in need.

Accompanying President Simeon-Okraku on this heartfelt endeavor were members of the GFA Executive Council, including Samuel Aboabire, alongside several Senior Management members, Heads of Departments, and staff. Together, they celebrated the President’s birthday at the Maternity Block of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, extending their solidarity and support to the community in a time of need.
