The champions of the Malta Guinness Premier League, Ampem Darkoa Ladies, displayed their strength in the final of the WAFU Zone B Women’s CAF Champions League by beating Delta Queens of Nigeria at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
Their hard work paid off as they defeated their Nigerian counterparts with a single goal, earning them a spot in the third CAF Women’s Champions League.
Ampem Darkoa Ladies broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute by taking advantage of a set piece opportunity when Nancy Amoh fired a free kick beautifully from the right side as Ophelia Amponsah neatly inserted the ball into the net to give her team a 1-0 advantage after the goalkeeper struggled to control the delivery.
