Chelsea defeated Paris FC in the Women’s Champions League group stage at Stamford Bridge thanks to a stunning hat-trick from Sam Kerr.
Chelsea’s European campaign got off to a great start courtesy to goals from Kerr, even though Emma Hayes’ team wasn’t playing at its best. Chelsea had drew their opening match against Real Madrid.
Lauren James’ incredible pass set Kerr up for the goal in the first half, and she finished the half by tapping in a cross from Johanna Rytting Kaneryd.
In the 55th minute, she scored her third goal—a daring looping chip from outside the box—and her fourth in stoppage time thanks to a goal by replacement Sophie Ingle.
With the victory, Chelsea is now two points behind BK Hacken, who leads Group D after their 2-1 victory over Real Madrid on Thursday.
In other results Paris Saint-Germain were stunned at home by the dominant Bayern Munich thanks to Ericsson’s winner in the first half.
BK Hacken produced a stunning comeback to shock Real Madrid Femenino at home. Bruun gave Real Madrid the lead with just nine minutes into the game before Kafaji and Kosola scored in the second half to give Hacken all three points.
Roma produced a domaninat 3-0 win over Ajax Women in Rome.
