Manchester City are a day away from winning a historic treble if they beat the ‘compact’ Inter Milan at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey.

The Cityzens won their second trophy of the 2022/23 season, the English FA Cup after beating bitter city rivals Manchester United 2-1.

The Coupe des Clubs Champions Européens has been an elusive trophy for the Sky Blues since their rise to the elite of European football thanks to the takeover of Sheikh Mansour in 2008.
Manchester City has been tipped by many football pundits to comfortably overcome Inter Milan to win their first-ever European trophy after suffering a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to Chelsea in their first European final at the Estadio Dragao in the 2020/21 season.
This will be Pep Guardiola’s fourth Champions League final as a manager, having won two with Barcelona – in 2009 and 2011. Only Carlo Ancelotti has managed in more Champions League finals (five), while only Ancelotti (four) and Zinedine Zidane (three) have won more than his two.
The Nerazurri finished third in Serie A and, although they ended their season in fine form, winning 11 from 12 games in all competitions – including a Coppa Italia final win over Fiorentina.
Inter Milan is the fourth side ever to reach the Champions League final having lost their first game of the season in the competition, along with Milan in 1994-95, Bayern Munich in 1998-99 and Tottenham in 2018- 19, and all of those teams lost their finals.
