Ghanaian defender Jonas Adjei Adjetey, 19, has been elevated to the first team by Swiss club Basel.

Adjetey, who last season transferred from Berekum Chelsea to Basel, impressed the coaching staff and has been working out with the first squad in advance of the new campaign.

During his stint with Basel’s U-21 team, the youthful star displayed his skills by making 16 appearances in the Promotion League.

Adjetey has reached a critical turning point in his football career with his promotion to the first squad. His selection for the senior team by Basel demonstrates the club’s faith in his ability and potential.

With his inclusion in the first team, Adjetey will have the opportunity to compete at a higher level and prove his worth on the professional stage. The young defender will be eager to make his mark and contribute to Basel’s success in the upcoming season.

As Adjetey continues his development, he will be looking to make a positive impact and establish himself as an integral part of the Basel squad.

FC Basel will travel away to face Lawrence Ati-Zigi’s St. Gallen when the Swiss Super League kicks off on Saturday, 22nd July, at 4 pm.
