Seasoned rapper, Elom Adablah, known by his stage name EL, has sparked a new conversation when he downplayed the lyrical abilities of some giant rappers in the country to name the least celebrated ones as lyricists.
According to him, lyricists are creative and are witty in their music presentations, while rappers just combine words in a faster tone.
Speaking in a media interview, EL indicated that the well known rappers of this era were actually not having lyrical prowess and named his five lyricists, whose works he claimed were still relevant in the industry.
“Let me list five of my most respected lyricists, not rappers. This is because anybody can rap. Rap is just putting words together, making them rhyme, and making them work, and that is rap,” he said.
Listing them, EL mentioned M.anifest, Omar Sterling, formerly known as Paedae, Obibini, Kojo Cue, King Tradey, and Kev the Topic.
He indicated that the listed artistes were the best lyricists, and any other rapper, including Sarkodie and Lyrical Joe, whose names were not to be called lyricists.
EL is noted for his good music and has won several accolades in the industry. Though he is not making waves currently but his songs like Koko, Kaalu, and One Ghana among, others were gained popularity.
