The men’s basketball event at the Olympics has once again been dominated by the United States of America after an emphatic 98-87.
Just as historic as the 2024 Paris Olympic Games’ basketball event has been, there’s never a Team USA win without an epic performance from the Golden State Warriors’ Steph Curry.
The California-based, 36-year-old point guard won his first Olympic medal after displaying dominant late three-pointer shots, and though the French Stars fought valiantly, through proved no match to the Americans.
Despite his numerous NBA championships, Curry described the Olympic triumph as his biggest.
“That was an unbelievable moment,” Curry said. “I’ve been blessed to play basketball at a high level for a very long time. This ranks very high in terms of the excitement and the sense of relief getting to the finish line.”
Head coach Steve Kerr and his assistants, LA Clippers’ Tyrone Lue, Miami Heat’s Spoelstra, and Gozanga’s Mark Few, have brought great unity to the star-studded team to lead them to gold.
