French-Canadian singer Celine Dion and American pop star Lady Gaga are set to perform at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics on Friday, July 26.
This news was disclosed by French President Emmanuel Macron, who had been slowly teasing fans in preparation for the global showpiece.
The iconic singers, aside from performing a duet, would perform Édith Piaf’s ‘La Vie en Rose,’ according to Macron.
“Apparently she has arrived in Paris; it’s great!” he confessed to the French television channel France 2. “I would be immensely happy if she could be at this opening ceremony, like all our compatriots.”
“I will not reveal anything about what [opening ceremony director] Thomas Jolly and all his teams have prepared,” Macron added.
