Ghanaian sprinter Benjamin Azameti has qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The 26-year-old, after securing a place in the 4x100m relay in the Bahamas, finished 39th in the 100m event world ranking.
Another Ghanaian to also book a spot at the global showpiece is Rasheed Saminu, who finished 54th, two places before the cut-off 56th position.
The Paris 2024 qualification scheme is designed as an approach with two phases. The first half of the total quota (roughly fifty percent) will be allocated to the athletes based on the World Athletics Council-approved entry standards, while the second half will be determined by the world ranking list during the qualifying period.
