FC Samartex have claimed they did not receive a bid from Singida Big Stars for the services of Emmanuel Keyeke, who has since gone on to make his debut for the Tanzanian club in the CECAFA Kagame Interclub Cup.

The 2024 Ghana Football Awards’ local player of the year, Emmanuel Keyeke, seems to find himself in hot waters after accepting a move to Tanazania Premier League minnows, Singida Big Stars FC.

FC Samartex 1996, winners of the 2023–24 Ghana Premier League, has sensationally stated in a press release through General Manager Edmund Ackah that the player legally remains the club’s.

Keyeke, 26, opted for a move to join the Tanzanian club despite a successful season with Samartex, as he played 32 matches, scoring 5 goals and providing 2 assists, and guiding them to the preliminary round of the 2024–25 CAF Confederations Cup.

Speaking on Max FM, the club’s P.R.O. Kwesi Abronuma insisted that Keyeke is still a player for the GPL winners, but Dauda Youssef is the only player transferred.

“Even if he has one month left on his contract, he is still our player. We didn’t receive any bids from the team (Singida). The only bid we received was from Rwandan claub, APR, for Dauda Youssef.”
