March 6

The Ministry of Interior has declared Wednesday, March 6, 2024, as a statutory holiday.

Henry Quartey said that Ghana’s history has a lot of significance and urges all citizens to observe it accordingly.

Independence Day marks freedom from colonial rule and therefore holds a huge importance in the hearts of Ghanaians, reminding them of the toil and struggles of the forefathers.

Various institutions are therefore expected to be closed on March 6 in order to allow citizens to partake in the activities that will be hosted.
