Renowned actress Yvonne Nelson has called on IMANI Ghana, a policy think tank, to once again partner with her outfit to embark on a second protest against the government over the recent erratic power supply in the country.

She made this call yesterday in an X post to outcry how the Akufo-Addo-led administration had failed Ghanaians.

The movie producer lamented that the current administration had also taken the citizenry for granted after its promise to ensure constant power supply for those depending on power to conduct their businesses profitably.

She stated that she had been waiting for IMANI to once again support her to embark on a successful vigil to make the government aware of the frustrations Ghanaians were going through with the erratic power supply.

“IMANI Ghana, Can we organize another vigil? I’ve been waiting for you to reach out like you did years ago. (Your team made our demo a success.) I’m reaching out to myself. The NPP and its leadership, @nakufoaddo, have taken Ghanaians for granted. #DUMSORMUSTSTOP,” Yvonne tweeted.

Nine years ago, the actress led a massive protest against the John Mahama government, which brought together many celebrities over “dumsor” and its repercussions on Ghanaians.

In her tweet, Yvonne Nelson disclosed that her 2015 “dumsor” protest was supported by IMANI Ghana and that she wanted the same to be done against the current government.

However, the government has denied that “dumsor” is back, despite calls for a load-shedding timetable.
