Renowned counselor Reverend Seth Tetteh says many men are frustrated in marriage due to their inability to carefully plan their financial status before settling down with a woman.
He said inadequate preparation for marriage has sent many men to doom, and he advised them to prepare financially before marrying.
Speaking exclusively with Max Morning Agenda in Accra on Wednesday, Rev. Tetteh, who doubles as an author, said marriage was for mature minds and shouldn’t become a journey for those not adequately prepared to embark on.
He expressed the need for a man to work hard to prepare himself financially before marriage.
“You say I am going into it (marriage), and at the end of the day, things will work. I am telling you the field is different from when you are standing outside. You will have to provide food and put it on the table.
The man must make sure it is my responsibility to take care of the house so that it lacks nothing. You will have to work hard to ensure everything goes smoothly in the house. If you don’t prepare yourself, you will end up being frustrated in the marriage,” Rev. Tetteh said.
He noted that many Christians make those mistakes with the belief that God will take care of them and provide for them once they marry.
“I am telling you, you will be frustrated. As a man, get the basic things that will make marriage work before entering into it. You will be frustrated for the next 10 years if you don’t prepare adequately,” Rev. Tetteh added.
He therefore charged men to be critical thinkers and act maturely without marrying based on personal reasons or getting a woman pregnant, but because they were ready for it and had the capacity to build a home.
