Nigeria star Burna Boy has now expanded his collection of awards with a Billboard Music Award.

The artist was dubbed the finest Afrobeats act in the US by Billboard, and he even earned his first Grammy earlier this year.

He declared, “This is dedicated to Africa and every artist coming out of Africa now,” when he accepted the award on Sunday.

In light of the growing global popularity of Afrobeats, Billboard is the latest organization to introduce a category for the genre.

Burna Boy remarked in a prerecorded video greeting, “The future’s bright… This is just the tip of the iceberg, but you’re going to see the whole vision soon”.

Rema, another Nigerian artist, was also honored with an award at the event for his universal hit song Calm Down, which has broken numerous streaming and chart records.

Rema thanked his supporters and referred to the honor as “a celebration of unity and the global dominance of Afrobeats” when he accepted the best Afrobeats song trophy on Sunday.
