MAX ENTERTAINMENT: Mzbel explains why females are not excelling in the industry

By Michael Mensah Martey

Songstress Mzbel says female musicians are not excelling in the industry due to their inability to avail themselves for collaboration.

According to her, the females are not even taking advantage of the industry to compete keenly with their male counterparts.

In a media interview, Mzbel said that regardless of the fact that the industry was male-dominated, females were not ready to avail themselves for collaborations as much as guys do.

“Mostly, we like to do it solo. I don’t know why. I have tried several times to get some girls to work with, and they’ll always give you excuses, but they never showed up. But when you call the guys, they’re willing to come,” she said.

Mzbel then advised female musicians to open up and make it a mandate to be available for collaborations if only they wanted to make the industry appealing and challenging for their male counterparts.

She is, however, convinced that the future is promising for female singers, but only if they work towards that.
