Seasoned musician Ofori Amponsah has asserted that most gospel songs of today lack meaning and have no significant content that can shape lives.
To him, most secular songs inspire more than songs classified as gospel.
Speaking to the media, the highlife singer explained that gospel musicians lack content regarding the word of God.
“Most of their songs are not gospel. They’re doing foolish songs,” he claimed.
Explaining why he chose to do secular songs, Ofori Amponsah stated that God, in his wisdom, created love, and he would not be able to please God if he failed to express his love through music.
“The first thing God created was love, so if I am not able to satisfy my lover musically, how can I satisfy God, whom I’ve never seen?” He queried.
Mr. All 4 Real, as affectionately called, said love was the most important thing every man needed and bragged that his songs had inspired many more than today’s gospel music.
Talking about the u-turn he took after establishing a church in 2013, he said that even though he was called by God to do his work, his calling was not to be a pastor, which is why he came back to secular music.
