MAX ENTERTAINMENT: I made no money while with High Grade Family - Kaakie reveals

Dancehall artiste, Kaakie has revealed that her years in the musical industry were not profitable.

According to her, she did not make any money from the music that she did.

Speaking in a media interview to announce her return to the industry, the talented reggae/dancehall queen stated that she might need a lawyer if she wanted to talk about the poor financial experience she had with her label, High Grade Family, concerning her music.

“If I would talk about that then probably I will say that rightly, I would need a lawyer to talk about that but I don’t want to talk about that. For the fact  of radio that somebody can use an element out of what you say as evidence,” she indicated.

Kaakie lamented that she did not have original copies of her songs and admitted that things did not end well with her and her former label boss, Samini.

However, she stated that she could perform some of her former songs during a gig, regardless of what transpired between her and her label.

Kaakie made it clear that she did not regret singing, explaining that it was a journey for her and that she has learned lessons that have shaped her for her return.

“I have no regrets in life. I will say everything about me has been a journey. I have been through it whether on scene or out of scene, but it doesn’t mean that it is over yet that is how I see about it and I have a strong vibe about it,” she said.

As part of her return, the “Toffee Pon Tongue” hitmaker said she hoped to build a platform for the upcoming musicians so they would feel appreciative of their work.

She also announced that she has an afro-pop track with the Northern Star, Fancy Gadam, and will soon drop the song this year.

Touching on the track, Kaakie said it was a song that she intended to collaborate on with Ebony, but the Rufftown artiste passed away before they could do it.

She also revealed that she used her hiatus to build a stronger team and assured fans that she was returning with a bang and that it would be better than before.
