On September 9, 2023, starting at 12 pm, the Untamed Empire will host the first-ever color festival in Ghana, Calabash Color Festival, which intends to emulate the vibrant vista of marketplaces throughout Ghana and bring people from all walks of life together for a good time. The event has a white T-shirt dress code.
An immersive and aesthetically breathtaking celebration will be created at this ground-breaking festival by combining colors, artist performances, dancers, live music, acrobats, games, and cuisine. A number of Ghana’s most popular artists, including Mr. Drew, Quamina MP, Sefa, Dope Nation, etc., will perform at the event, giving up-and-coming artists a chance to show off their skills.
The Holi celebration and the lovely verse in Philippians 4:8 serve as the inspiration for the Calabash Color celebration. The festival seeks to imitate the vibrant scenery of Makola, Kejetia, and Kotokuraba and celebrates our vibrant culture as Ghanaians. It does this by bringing people from all walks of life together for fun and by realizing that something so beautiful from India could be adapted to suit us here in Ghana, as has been done in Australia, London, Kenya, Dubai, South Africa, and other parts of the world.
A single ticket costs GHC 150 and includes 2 color pouches; a double ticket costs GHC 250 and includes 4 color pouches. RSVPs are required for VIP access. There will be a countdown to the thrilling color toss every hour. A spontaneous color throw could also be requested by the MC or performing artist when the crowd is enthusiastic and the energy is strong.
