In an aid to empower local communities and showcase the true essence of Ghanaian hospitality, the Liberty Card, a modern and user-friendly card system, has been launched on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at the Accra Tourist Information Center.

The Tourist Liberty Card is a modern and user-friendly card system introduced by the Tourism Society of Ghana that aims to offer exclusive benefits for the general public, from visiting most tourist sites nationwide to accessing cultural and tourism events locally and internationally.

The introduction of the Liberty Card is inspired by society’s vision to make exploring Ghana’s rich cultural heritage and natural wonders accessible to everyone.

The Liberty Card is a dedication to the conservation of the country’s cultural legacy, in addition to its amazing benefits for individual travelers. With the Liberty Card, local communities will be empowered, prospects for sustainable progress will be created, and the genuine spirit of Ghanaian hospitality will be presented.

Speaking at the launch, Executive Director of the society, Joseph Armah Amartey said, “The Liberty card offers exclusive benefits for Tourism Society of Ghana members; from visiting most tourist sites nationwide, to access to cultural and tourism events locally and internationally. Not only does it save time and money but also adds value to every travel experience, making it truly memorable. We are still in dialogue with other tourism stakeholders to come onboard the liberty card program to increase card benefits”.

Several dignitaries were in attendance at the launch of the Liberty Card; the most notable was H.E. Daniel Mahongo, the High Commissioner of Zambia; Kwadwo Antwi, Head of the Ghana Tourist Development Company, C.E.O of Bunso Eco Park among others
