Hasaacas Ladies Football Club has officially lodged a protest against rivals Ampem Darkoa Football Club for fielding an "unqualified" player in the Malta Guinness Women's Premier League playoff final at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Friday, May 12, 2023 contrary to Article 28(1)(d), Article 33(1)(e) of the Ghana Football Association Women's Premier League Regulations 2019.
Ampem Darkoa defeated Hasaacas Ladies 5-3 in a penalty shootout to clinch their second consecutive title.
The "Statment of Case" by the Petitioner(Hasaacas Ladies) against the Respondent(Ampem Darkoa) indicates:
1. Player LATIFA ABESIK with MEMBER ID GHA084462F who wore jersey number 12 and played for Ampem Darkoa Ladies Football Club has another registration with Nana Afia Kobi Ampem Ladies SC as LATIFA ABESIK with MEMBER ID GHA069931F making her an unqualified player per Article 28(1)(d), Article 28(2)(a) and Ampem Darkoa Ladies forfeits the Malta Guinness WPL final match per Article 33(1)(e) of the Ghana Football Association Women’s Premier League Regulations 2019.
2. Player JENNIFER OWUSUAA with MEMBER ID GHA053784F who wore jersey number 24 and played for Ampem Darkoa Ladies Football Club has another registration with Vida Ladies Football Club as JENNIFER BADU with MEMBER ID GHA142320F making her an unqualified player per Article 28(1)(d), Article 28(2)(a) and Ampem Darkoa Ladies forfeits the Malta Guinness WPL final match per Article 33(1)(e) of the Ghana Football Association Women’s Premier League Regulations 2019.
Both Latifa Abesik and Jennifer Owusuaa were subbed into the final in the 80th and 64th minutes respectively.
Hasaacas Ladies Football Club has therefore petitioned the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association to declare the club as champions of 2022/2023 Malta Guinness WPL, submit both clubs(Hasaacas Ladies FC and Ampem Darkoa Ladies) pending the final determination when submitting the name of the National Champion to WAFU B for the Women’s Champions League qualifiers, and apply of Article 33(1)(e) and its corresponding punishment of Article 33(2), Article 33(5)(a), Article 33(5)(b) and Article 33(5)(c) of the Ghana Football Association Women’s Premier League Regulations 2019.
