JUST IN: Hearts of Oak to Build 25,000-Seat Stadium

By Tony Bebli

Hearts of Oak’s PRO Addo has confirmed plans to build a 25,000-seat stadium, following earlier announcements by Board Chairman Togbe Afede.

The club is working to secure land for the project. Addo stated, “We will first construct a mini stadium in Pobiman for friendly matches and later build a full-scale stadium for league games, allowing us to free up the Accra Sports Stadium for the National Sports Authority (NSA).”

The initial phase involves creating a mini stadium in Pobiman, while the long-term goal is to develop a full-scale venue for league matches.

This will help Hearts of Oak maintain a consistent home ground and avoid relocating games due to the Accra Sports Stadium’s availability.

Hearts of Oak’s new training facilities in Pobiman are already enhancing the team’s preparation for the Ghana Premier League.

The new stadiums are expected to greatly improve the club’s infrastructure and performance in domestic and international competitions.
