I Will Never Venture Into The Dirty Game of Politics – Blakk Rasta

By Henrycobblah

If you see me anywhere within the political arena, I have certainly gone mad! That’s not my calling. I have been called to inspire the African youth to be bold about contending for their place in leadership and nation-building. That’s only how Africa can develop.

On the hot seat of the Reggae Kafe hosted by Heavy Dee on Max 87.9FM, Ghanaian Reggae icon Blakk Rasta made a revelation that he will never contend for any political position ever. That could only happen when he loses his sanity. When enquired upon why that conclusion, Blakk Rasta responded;

Ghanaian and African “Politrickcians” have failed us all. Failed promises and cheap talk isn’t in my calling. I am here to speak the truth always to inspire the African youth to take their place in governance, not me because they are the only ones who can make the necessary changes and build Africa as it ought to be.

Speaking passionately about the lack of visionary leaders in Ghana and some other parts of Africa, the host, Heavy Dee put it to the outspoken radio host and musician if he would want to venture into politics to effect the necessary changes he is pioneering for?

Black Rasta seems focused as a musician and a radio host, avenues he thrives on to carry his mandate, and is over-confident he would never need the dirty game of politics to get the work done. Although he’s been approached by a lot of youth to lead them in a political agenda and even been offered sponsorship packs by some prominent and affluent persons, he has always vehemently declined, he revealed.

Blakk Rasta urged the youth of Ghana to rise up and challenge for the top positions at the political front where the aged group should mentor and direct them to succeed other than focus their attention on loose ambitions such as betting and gambling. There’s so much the youth can achieve if they are rightly guided.

The radio Kafe comes off every Saturday between the hours of 8:30 pm and 10 pm on Max 89.7FM with your usual host Heavy Dee. Make sure to tune in next time!
