Asante Kotoko and Black Stars midfielder Richmond Lamptey have lost their father, Odarkwei Lamptey.
The news was confirmed by Asante Kotoko in a social media post, sending condolences to the player and his family.
Lamptey led his side to face Heart of Lions in Kpando, which resulted in a 1-0 defeat for his side.
While he was suspended for match-fixing—a charge he eventually had withdrawn—the midfield player’s mother and father supported him through the challenging moments of his career.
