The head coach of the senior national team of Ghana, Otto Addo, has warned his side against complacency ahead of the crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup encounter on Monday.
The Black Stars, following their impressive away win against Mali in Bamako last Thursday, will take on the Central African Republic as they bid to earn a place in football’s biggest global tournament in 2026.
Speaking at the pre-match presser on Sunday, June 9, 2024, the gaffer agreed with his star man, Mohammed Kudus’, call not to underestimate their opponents at Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
“One thing is for sure: it’s going to be a difficult game. We hope for an easy win, but we must not underestimate our opponents,” Mohammed Kudus opined, to which Otto Addo replied, “We can’t afford to relax now.”
With the race for the top spot blown wide open by Madagascar’s home win against Comoros on Friday, the Black Stars now have the chance to go top should they win with superior goals.
