Despite losing to American boxer Ryan Garcia in San Antonio on Sunday, April 10, 2022, Ghanaian fighter Emmanuel ‘Game Boy’ Tagoe has pocketed USD $200,000.

Emmanuel ‘Game Boy’ Tagoe was compensated for his participation in the fight, which took place at The Alamodome in Texas.

Game Boy total earnings from the fight might reach USD$500,000, including 30% of the Pay-Per-View (PPV) revenue, whilst Garcia, who received $1 million as a guaranteed payout, could make $3 million due to his entitlement to 70% of the PPV revenue.

After dominating all 12 rounds, Ryan Garcia won the fight by unanimous decision.

Judges Tom Carusone and Ellis Johnson both score the fight 119-108 for Garcia, while Lisa Giampa scores it 118-109 for him.

Garcia moves to 22 victories and 0 losses in his professional career after going the full 12-round distance for the first fight.

Garcia landed 165 of 569 blows, while Tagoe hit 90 of 391 strikes.

Garcia returns to action after a 15-month hiatus with a bang, but new coach Joe Goossen still has work to do.
