BROTHERS: Tonight (WEDNESDAY 27th) On Episode 158

By Henrycobblah

“Cardo, we have a huge problem. Onyok’s gone missing.”

At the mess hall in Bilibid, Onyok suggests that they go talk to the rotten Director so he could stop punishing Cardo, and Miyong makes it clear that it’s pointless because the man is nothing but a heartless scumbag. Meanwhile, Elmo, Yolly and Makmak go around the neighborhood, distributing some missing person’s papers in hopes of finding Onyok. Back in Bilibid, Onyok keeps pestering Miyong over being hungry and he passes him a banana every now and then.

Alyana visits Cardo in prison in the company of Benny. They bring up Onyok and how they’re doing their best to find the boy. Tentatively, Cardo reveals that Onyok is right there with him in prison. At the mess hall, Miyong asks Onyok to stay in hiding while he goes to deliver the Director’s food.

“Wow, look at that,” so says the little boy as the prison cook carries on. “Hotdogs.”

Cardo recounts how Onyok had been able to make his way into prison. Meanwhile, Onyok follows Miyong and sneaks past him into the Director’s office. Finding the miserable man absent, Miyong leaves his food on the desk and heads out. Onyok then comes out of hiding but before he can have a taste, Acosta approaches, prompting him to hide under the desk.

The Director is busy talking to someone on phone. He turns away after taking a piece of the hotdogs to eat. Onyok then reaches out his hand and he steals some from the plate and begins enjoying it. While Cardo asks Alyana and Benny to keep the matter a secret from grandma Flora and everyone else, Acosta takes a sip of his coffee and turns away again and Onyok steals the last remaining hotdog. Upon noticing the disappearance, Acosta is in the process of searching when a guard comes over to ask what the matter is.

“I think there’s a rat,” the Director says. “

“A new batch of gifts arrived,” the guard reveals. “They’re all for you. You need to check them.”

A moment later, Acosta returns to his office to find that his coffee and everything else has been done justice to. The guards insinuate that he might have forgotten that he had finished them already. “I didn’t forget. I’m telling you. There’s a rat in here. First, it took my cash. And now it’s taken my food.”

Joaquin the jackass and his lapdogs storm a rival drug business and easily takes it down, securing bogus evidence and saving a fellow officer in the process. As expected, his bedmate and ass-kisser Monica the bitchy reporter covers the story and interviews the scumbag who screwed her a few days ago. Classic conflict of interest.

BROTHERS

Miyong takes a breather after finding Onyok right where he had left him. “So you finished your banana?”

“I did,” the boy replies excitedly. “And I’m really full.”

Miyong sneaks Onyok back into Cardo’s cell. Meanwhile, the despicable Director and his lackeys are preoccupied with the meth lab they’ve set up in prison. The miserable swine goes on to reopen the gambling den and he takes charge of it. Later, he returns back to his office to find his money missing again and he takes it out on the guards.

“If it wasn’t you, who’s the bastard who has been stealing all my money?!”

“Maybe it was Miyong. Besides us, he’s the only one who has access to your office.”

Cardo stands up to Director Acosta

Acosta assembles the inmates at the mess hall and he calls them out on the money he’s been missing. When none takes the bait, he singles out Miyong and proceeds to accuse and flog him for it. Ultimately, Cardo intervenes and comes to the old man’s defense, declaring that he isn’t a thief. Despicable Acosta has the guards restrain Cardo and he redirects his punishment on him and rambles some crap before disappearing. Cardo then consoles the unfortunate old man.

Delfin and Billy discuss the insulting fact of Joaquin the jackass being a candidate for promotion on account of his recent endeavors. Billy asks if he could do anything to prevent it and the General says they can’t do anything for now because they have nothing on the scumbag. Meanwhile, Alyana asks her mother if her dad is hiding something since he had lied about being on bad terms with Danilo his contact from Macau. Virgie rambles some BS.

While Miyong is being tended to by his wife at home who presses him for details, the Arevalos make ready to visit Cardo in prison. The insufferable Teddy refuses to go, grumbling that he still has work. Whatever the hell that means. Later, Virgie tries but fails to talk some sense into him. Eventually, Cardo receives the Arevalos in Bilibid. He asks of Teddy and Virgie makes up excuses for him. Suddenly, the insufferable man shows up to put on an act.

“Don’t lose hope,” Virgie says. “The truth always comes out in the end.”

“Thank you, ma’am,” Cardo replies.

“Right,” Teddy comments, somewhat indifferent. This old man is slowly but surely earning the jackass “name tag”.

Rowena apologizes to Flora for misjudging her and her family. After listening to her sob story of how her miserable husband had disappeared with their daughter, Flora gives her a talking to before inviting her to stay with them at the house. Meanwhile, Acosta handles some cash in a very solemn mood.

“Whoever you are, you rodent,” the despicable Director says to himself. “I’m gonna lure you into my trap. I’m going to catch you.”

Miyong dishes out Acosta’s food and proceeds to take it to him at his office, ignorant that the overly adventurous Onyok has sneaked right behind him again. Acosta is turned away, deliberately occupying himself with a phone call. After Miyong places the plate on the desk and leaves, Onyok sneaks under the desk a moment before the Director turns to find the money he had deliberately left on the desk still intact. Onyok looks excited from his hiding spot.

At the mess hall, Miyong tries offering Onyok a banana. He almost has a heart attack upon realizing that the boy’s missing. Frantically, he begins asking around about him. Meanwhile, Acosta is preoccupied with a phone call and Onyok takes the advantage to steal a delicious hotdog. While he enjoys it with such excitement, Cardo arrives at the mess hall and Miyong approaches him.

“Cardo, we have a huge problem,” the old man begins.

“Huh? What is it?”

“Onyok’s gone missing.”

“What? Where did he go? We need to find Onyok at once. We can’t let Acosta find him first.”

Onyok makes another attempt to steal some more hotdogs. Doesn’t go so well this time. He stares in disbelief at what lies in his hand. “Money?” Yep. The boy just the rotten Director’s money.

Director Acosta turns with a vengeful look upon realizing the disappearance of his cash. Under the desk, Onyok is still staring at the money in disbelief. After a while, he reaches out his hand again to snatch some hotdogs. Tentatively, Acosta glares. “Got you!” the miserable man says as he grabs Onyok’s fidgety hand. The episode ends with an angry scowl from Acosta. And a priceless look of shock on Onyok’s face.

NEXT: After painstakingly presenting Joaquin the jackass with his award, Delfin tries to reason with Verna. Despicable Acosta traps Onyok in a cage in hopes of discovering who he belongs to. Will Cardo be able to save Onyok without any collateral damage?
