Cardo Plans To Save Onyok And Break Out Of Prison
Onyok in deep trouble.
“Don’t worry, Onyok. I’m going to save you. I promise you that. We need to do everything to make sure that this escape plan will be successful.”
The episode begins with the despicable Director grabbing Onyok and accusing him of stealing all his money. Onyok sobs saying that all he wanted was a hotdog. However, the miserable man keeps ranting like a madman and proceeds to punish. Meanwhile, Cardo and the other inmates go in search of Onyok but come up with nothing. As they worry over the boy’s whereabouts, the guards send them back into their cells and the rotten Acosta shows up and reveals that he had caught himself the rat who’s supposedly been stealing his money. He eyes Cardo and rambles some more BS.
Joaquin the jackass has already screwed Monica the bitchy reporter yet again. Guy plans on keeping her on a tight leash since she’s quite useful for his plans. He arrives home pretty late and his dear mother begins throwing a fit. In Bilibid, Acosta catches Miyong looking around the suppliers’ room. He questions him about it and the old man says he’s just checking to see if they have enough supplies.
“Ah…I thought that you were looking for a rat,” Acosta states.
“A rat?”
“That’s right. There’s a rat here in prison.
Miyong seems confused. “But how did that happen? Didn’t you clean up the whole place?”
“Watch it, wise guy!”
“Well, if I find the rat, I will kill it for you.”
“Make sure of that,” Acosta says. “Because I hate rats.”
After the miserable man disappears with his men, Miyong merely says, “In this place, you’re the only rat.”
Gener visits Ramil in prison and reminds him of what would happen to him if he fails to pay back the money he owes the boss. Ramil then asks him to remind the boss that he would never be where he is right now if it hadn’t been for him. At an event at camp Crame, General Delfin painstakingly leads Joaquin the jackass in repeating the oath of service and honor. The General has a look on his face as if he wants to slap the jackass in the face with the file he’s bearing. Team Cardo look on with disgust as the miserable swine is promoted.
Verna arrives at the CIDG headquarters to congratulate her wretched son. Upon spotting her on her way out, Delfin tries to reason with her to come out with the truth regarding Cardo’s case despite her jackass son being involved. Not wanting to have her son facing a case instead, Verna plays dumb and acts all stupid, saying that there’s no way in hell she could help Cardo.
“Please,” Delfin implores. “I do believe that you know the truth. That you’re aware of it.”
Acting all stupid and clueless again, Verna mumbles some BS before walking away. Behind Delfin, Joaquin the jackass shows up some distance away. The miserable swine gloats silently. Later at home, the jackass brings his dear mother a gift for covering up his miserable ass. Meanwhile, Alyana gladly informs Jerome about some good news she has. And what is it about? Her father went to visit Cardo in prison. That’s the good news. Sounds like arrant nonsense to me.

Rowena is disbelief upon finding out about the huge sum of money her miserable husband owes some loan sharks, all thanks to his gambling addiction. Upon arriving home, Miyong informs his wife of the disappearance of Onyok. In Bilibid, the despicable Acosta is acting like the animal that he is as he keeps banging on the cage he’s put Onyok in with his baton, demanding to know the truth.
“Tell me,” begins the miserable man. “Who ordered you to steal all the money kept here in my officeeeeeeeee?!”
“Nobody,” Onyok sobs.
“Nobody?!”
Flora upholds the new ordinance
Julian mentions the possibility of the Director torturing Onyok at the moment. Jimboy disagrees and Estong reminds him that the miserable man has no soul. And rightly so. The despicable Director is ranting like a madman, all in an effort to make the boy reveal who’s taking care of him. The poor little boy only cries but doesn’t fess up and Acosta decides to let him rot in the cage until he reveals who’s been ordering him to steal his cash.
While Makmak helps out grandma Flora at the town hall, a guard comes for some food at the mess hall and Miyong asks who it’s for since he had already given the Director his. The guard shuts him up and the old man mumbles that it’s probably for the rat they captured. At Barangay 628, Makmak goes around distributing some papers about the prohibition of firecrackers (knockouts). He runs into some boys who throw a firecracker at him. As he points out the dangers of it, they ridicule him, branding him as a coward.
Makmak reports the incident to grandma Flora and in no time, she sets off with some others to give the boys a talking to. She mentions that they could hurt themselves or other people with the firecrackers and the boys argue that they’re always careful. Makmak reminds them that they had just thrown one at him and Flora asks of their parents. The father soon shows up and she informs him of the new ordinance that prohibits the use of dangerous firecrackers. The man throws a fit, saying that it’s their tradition. Eventually, Flora has the watchmen confiscate the firecrackers he had just bought.
Ramil offers Cardo his help to save Onyok on the condition that he help them break out of prison. In the Director’s office, the miserable man is taunting Onyok with the hotdogs that had led to his capture. Back at Barangay 628, Igno stubbornly lights some firecrackers he had hidden and one misfires and bloodies his hand. Coming upon the scene, Flora has him rushed to the hospital and after he’s been attended to, he promises not to use firecrackers anymore. Flora charges him to be a good example for the kids. In Bilibid, Cardo informs Estong of Ramil’s offer.
“I pray that you may find Onyok,” so says the old man. “And take the boy with you out of this place.’
At the Girona residence, the family have dinner and they each make wishes for the coming New Year, just as the Arevalos are doing same in their home. Lorraine receives a text message from JP which makes her smile and Jerome teases her about it. Mrs. Girona then brings up Cardo’s family and how he and Onyok aren’t both home. At the de Leons, the family members take turns praying over dinner. Ultimately, Flora prays that Onyok finds his way home and Cardo be set free soon.
Cardo reminisces about his first encounter with Onyok in Botolan. Lying in the cage in such a somber mood, Onyok flashes back to how Cardo had saved him several times – from the burning orphanage as well as the goons who had kidnapped him upon his arrival in Manila. Simultaneously, they both recall some more heartwarming moments. Eventually, Cardo reflects on how he had pushed the boy away to his mother, and Onyok recalls how he had found his way into the prison upon discovering the truth.
“Onyok,” Cardo begins. “I love you so much. I’ve always loved you like my real son. So I will never forgive Acosta if I find out that he hurt you. Don’t worry Onyok. I’m going to save you. I promise you that.”
The next morning, Cardo draws the floor plan of the prison and with the inmates gathered around, he rambles on about how they’re going to study the officials to know their precise routine and retrieve Onyok safely. Meanwhile, the family reflect on the misfortunes that had befallen them in the previous year and Flora declares that the New Year is going to be a good one for their entire family. Rowena suddenly shows up.
Cardo and his allies proceed to study the routines of the guards discreetly. With the coast clear, Cardo sends out one of the inmates who sneaks past the guards and right into the Director’s room where he finds Onyok asleep.
”We need to do everything to make sure that this escape plan will be successful.
The inmate sneaks back into the cell. “You were right, Cardo. Onyok’s in Director Acosta’s office. Sleeping in a cage.”
NEXT: Despicable Director Acosta discovers the escape plan of the prisoners. As he reigns terror on them, Cardo teaches the madman a lesson in respect. An ally sacrifices his life for Cardo’s safety as Acosta and his men hunt down the fugitives. Will Cardo escape with Onyok unharmed?
