Ghanaian-British boxer Isaac ‘the Royal Storm’ Dogboe the former junior featherweight world champion, lost to Nick Ball of the UK in a WBC featherweight bout in Manchester.
Dogboe lost by a unanimous decision after a grueling 12-round contest where both fighters visited the canvas, but that of Ball was not counted.
Nick Ball took a clear win on the judges scorecards, with all three judges ruling in favor of Ball: 116-111, 118-109, and 119-108.
The fight was a WBC final eliminator for the belt currently held by Rey Vargas, who hasn’t defended since beating Mark Magsayo for the belt in July 2022.
This is Isaac Dogboe’s second straight defeat, and the outcome means Dogboe’s record currently stands at 24-4-15KO.
The ‘Royal Storm’ dropped a competitive but clear decision to Robeisy Ramirez in their WBO featherweight title fight on April 1 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, which suddenly interrupted a four-fight win streak following back-to-back defeats to Emanuel Navarrete.
Isaac Dogboe would have to put this defeat behind him and go back to the drawing board, working hard for better outcomes in the future.
