Laryea Kingston laments his goalkeeper, Michael Armah’s, role in Ghana’s 1-2 loss to Burkina Faso in the semifinal of the WAFU Zone B Championship in Accra.
The Black Starlets conceded two unavoidable goals in a tie at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Saturday night.
Asharaf Tapsoba took advantage of a couple of comical defensive mishaps to bag a brace for Burkina Faso.
Kingston, in his post-match presser, insists his goalie could have done better in his role in post.
“If you look at it the goals we conceded, it is by two mistakes from our goalkeeper, who had to play one wide and also the second the two centre-backs contradicted each other. That cost us this game but we defended the box well.”
The loss meant Ghana would miss out on yet another U-17 AFCON to fight for a spot at the FIFA U-17.
