Ghana’s Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) team dominated the 2023 African Games on March 12, 2024, securing a total of nine medals.
Ghana achieved the highest honors by winning 1 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze medals in the event, making them the most decorated country.
Unfortunately, the nine medals couldn’t contribute to Ghana’s overall medal count as MMA was classified as a ‘demontration sport’ at the games.
As of now, Ghana has secured five official medals, comprising one gold, three silver, and two bronze.
Due to this, the host nation now holds the 12th spot on the medal table, with Egypt leading with a total of 94 medals after 5 days into the game.
