Former Black Stars coach, James Kwesi Appiah, has led Sudan to victory over Democratic Republic of the Congo, in matchday two of the FIFA 2026 World Cup African qualifiers.
After a fiercely contested match, Sudan prevailed 1-0 thanks to an own goal in the 79th minute, igniting the coach’s mission in Sudan.
The 63-year-old had a slow start to the season on Thursday when he picked up a point in a 1-1 draw with Togo at the Martrys of February Stadium in Benghazi, Libya.
While they wait for Senegal’s matchup with Togo on Tuesday, Sudan is presently leading Group B.
