The Third Edition of the Accra Inter-City Homowo Marathon has been launched in Accra, with a call for mass participation in the race.
The race is fixed for Saturday, August 3, is expected to attract over 2000 athletes, and would commence at the Accra Sports Stadium and end at the Bukom Boxing Arena.
Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), who launched the race commended the organisers, Medivents Consult for the laudable initiative to organize such an event that promotes healthy living and an opportunity for long distance athletes.
He urged the indigenes in the Greater Accra Region to take advantage of the event in the capital which is also to promote their Homowo Festival and Tourism to register and win the attractive prizes at stake.
He encouraged many people to register and participate in the race adding that, marathon was not just for professional athletes but for everyone as it promotes health and fitness.
