Former Real Madrid forward Antonio Cassano has confidently stated that legendary Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho is “completely finished” as a coach.
Mourniho, 61, parted ways with Italian club AS Roma after leading them to the maiden UEFA Europa Conference League title and the final of the 2022–23 UEFA Europa League, where he lost to Sevilla.
Cassano, who is twenty years younger than the former Chelsea manager, has in the past had a war of words with him.
In his recent attack on the clubless Jose Mourinho in an interview with La Domenica Sportiva, Cassano believes the Portuguese is not capable of coaching anymore.
“As a coach, Mourinho is now completely finished. He is not capable of coaching anymore; he is still doing the same things as 10 years ago. He wouldn’t play [Leandro] Paredes and preferred [Edoardo] Bove to [Lorenzo] Pellegrini. [Daniele] De Rossi gave Roma the belief that this is a strong team; he’s doing an extraordinary job. He was always destined for this.”
