Gospel songstress Philipa Baafi is celebrating her successful story after graduating with first class in the Physician Assistant course in her 40s.
According to her, the remarkable achievement came with lots of hard work, dedication, and commitment.
Recounting her story, Philipa said she was orphaned at an early age, which made life difficult for her when she graduated from senior high school (SHS).
“I lost my parents during my primary school years, and my mother passed away when I entered SHS. Although I excelled academically, it was a challenging period for me. Besides my passion for music, I harbored a strong desire to pursue a career in medicine,” she recounted.
Philipa mentioned that she could not further her education and had to venture into lucrative jobs to make money to fend for herself.
Despite those obstacles, the singer was still resilient and committed to furthering her education.
She pursued a tertiary medical program as a physician assistant after gaining stability in her singing career.
Surprisingly, for someone beyond age 40, she received first-class honors upon graduation.
Touching on her long absence from the industry, Philipa stated that she used that break to further her studies and improve her credentials in order to stay relevant.
