Retired Black Stars left-back Habib Mohammed has slammed current Ghana coach Chris Hughton’s style of play after the team has struggled to impress in recent times.
Mohammed, who featured at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany for Ghana, asserts in an interview with Mutala Yakubu on Max FM that the current Black Stars squad does not play as a unit, despite praising the individual brilliance of West Ham star Mohammed Kudus.
“We don’t play as a team. We are not hungry for success. No! You can see they are all playing individual football. So if he says his tactics are just to get the win on the field, then I have no idea what he’s doing.”
Despite his lack of confidence in Chris Hughton, the former King Faisal player believes the Black Stars have what it takes to clinch the ultimate prize.
Ghana will face Cape Verde on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at 8 p.m. live on StarTimes.
