Black Stars goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott has expressed his excitement after signing a three-year-deal with Scottish side Hibernian FC from Charlton Athletic in the English League One.
He says he is determined to impress after reuniting with his former coach at new club, Hibernian FC.
Lee Johnson managed Wollacott during their time together at Bristol City. He praised the gaffer after his transfer was made official.
Speaking in an interview with the club’s website, he said, “Obviously he was the First Team Manager at Bristol City, which is where I was a few years ago, so him signing me is a statement in itself because it shows his trust and belief in me. He played a massive part in my development at Bristol, so I want to repay that.”
The 26-year-old, who missed last year’s biggest showpiece, the FIFA World Cup in Qatar due to an injury, has earned 11 caps for the Black Stars so far and will rival Hibs captain, David Marshall, for a starting berth.
