Reggae/dancehall musician Samini has advised colleagues to further their education to broaden their knowledge in their field of endeavors.
According to him, his career had seen a transformative path after his tertiary education, and he advised colleagues to follow suit.
Speaking in a recent interview, Samini explained that communication is a tool in music; therefore, when a musician gains formal education, it will help him or her to decipher rhythmic patterns and compose melodic phrases, as well as provide a means to market their music to a wider market.
“Going to gain tertiary education has impacted me positively, and naturally, you would start to do things differently. If you learned certain things that you didn’t know theoretically but were applying unconsciously, you would now know how to align them,” he stated.
The success of a music career, according to the “My Own” hitmaker, relied solely on the artist and expressed the need for them to display dynamic flexibility when employing theory in quality composition.
In this case, he said education was very relevant, and when one gained the requisite knowledge, it would help the musician understand the music business better.
“You would learn how to prioritize certain things and focus, which keeps you running, so it’s been a nice experience. I know that tertiary education will definitely impact my next line of productions and endeavors,” Samini added.
Emmanuel Andrews Samini, who was earlier known in the industry as Batman, bagged a degree in project management from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) on July 28, 2023.
