Ghanaian musician Kwesi Arthur sparked conversations on X (formerly Twitter) after his appearance at Davido’s A.W.A.Y. Festival in the US.
Since the video of his performance went viral, the musician has been at the top of X trends.
Music lovers have evaluated his performance as below average, leaving fans unsatisfied despite their excitement when he was announced as one of the few performers to grace the stage.
They contend that he sang at such a slow pace that the audience had nearly dispersed by the time his performance ended.
Others have come to the same conclusion: he has declined significantly in a system where a new generation of artists is dominating.
Conversely, his supporters have upheld the notion that he could be battling issues he hasn’t spoken about or experiencing psychological distress.
Notwithstanding the varied viewpoints, Kwesi Arthur tackled the matter by initially expressing appreciation to Davido and his group for the exceptional chance.
Then, taking a shot at his detractors, he declared that if there had been just two people in the theater, he would have carried on with his performance.
Without holding back, the “Ground Up” singer blasted his critics by jabbing them to “shove their opinions up their asses”.
This incident has spurred conversations concerning the challenges artists face and their evolving character in the music industry.
