The owner of the popular bar and eatery Kikibees, currently renamed Noire Lounge, in East Legon, Bennet Adomah Agyekum, has been killed by unidentified gunmen.
Mr. Agyekum was found dead in a house in Madina, in the greater Accra region, on Sunday, October 8, 2023. Reports suggest that this occurred shortly after Bennet left his restaurant earlier that night.
A statement by the police revealed that the businessman was rushed to the hospital for medical attention but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The police have detained a person who they think is his girlfriend in order to help with the inquiry.
“The police have arrested one Yandeh Joof, believed to be the girlfriend of the deceased, in connection with the matter, and she is assisting the investigation,” a police statement indicated.
An investigation is still ongoing surrounding the circumstances surrounding Bennet Agyekum’s death. His body is held up at the Police Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
