Galatasaray took advantage of some awful defending to earn a comeback Champions League victory at Old Trafford, adding to Manchester United’s miserable season.
Young Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund twice gave ten-man United the lead, the second of which was an outstanding performance in which the 20-year-old took advantage of Davinson Sanchez’s error to run 50 yards and beat Fernando Muslera with a skillful finish.
However, the hosts were only able to maintain their lead for a total of 10 minutes when Wilfried Zaha and Kerem Akturkoglu both equalized.
Mauro Icardi made amends nine minutes from time when he sprinted through the home team’s defense and scored after he had missed the penalty following a dreadful Andre Onana error that resulted in Casemiro’s dismissal.
