Hearts of Oak defeated Accra Lions FC 3-0 on Friday afternoon, due to a brace from Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and a goal from Agyenim Boateng in the Ghana Premier League (GPL).
The Phobians Hearts of Oak met their capital rivals on Friday 22nd April ,2022, in a matchday 26 match of the ongoing 2021/22 Ghanaian top-flight league season.
Hearts of Oak made use of their numerical advantage in the second half to collect the maximum points in a game where Accra Lions finished with 10 men.
On the day of the match, the visitors seized the lead after just 11 minutes of the first half when forward Daniel Afriyie Barnieh scored a beautiful goal for the Accra Lions.
Hearts of Oak doubled their advantage ten minutes into the second half when Isaac Agyenim Boateng scored, then Daniel Afriyie Barnieh made it 3-0 in the 80th minute with a goal.
Hearts of Oak held on to win by two goals to zero at the end of 90 minutes, with Accra Lions failing to answer to the two goals.
Hearts of Oak have climbed to fourth place in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) with today’s win.
