Following the news of her arrest over the alleged sale of unregistered products, Richmond Amofa Sarpong, the lawyer of actress Fella Makafui, has debunked the claims.
According to him, his client was only invited to the precinct to assist in some investigations concerning her health and fitness products.
It could be recalled that yesterday, a press statement from ISPYGH 247, a supposed investigative filmmaking firm, went viral on social media.
The said firm, in collaboration with the Pharmacy Council of Ghana, claimed to have investigated the health and fitness products sold by Fella Makafui, which led to the discovery of “unregistered drugs” she had been selling.
It added that ISPYGH 247, after a close six-month monitoring of Fella’s social media posts, gathered evidence of her alleged illegal activities leading to her arrest.
However, hours after the news had circulated, the management of Fella denied the said reports on Facebook and clarified in a statement that Fella Makafui was only invited by the police, which she honored.
After assisting the police with the necessary information to aid their investigation into the alleged sale of unregistered products, the lawyer said she immediately left the police premises.
Amofa Sarpong further stated that Fella Makafui also presented to the police her license obtained from the Ghana Traditional Medicine Practice, along with details of registered products from the Food and Drugs Authority.
