Embrace digital media for comedy

Veteran comedian Joseph Okyere, popularly known as Dr. Abusua, has charged comedians to embrace the use of social media platforms, most especially TikTok and YouTube, to exhibit their talents and make money.

According to him, the new media could be fully explored, as the traditional media was no longer creating enough rooms for comedians to showcase and make money from their talents.

Speaking in an interview with Max Morning Show in Accra on Friday, Dr. Abusua noted that though concert platforms in the country had collapsed, comedy was still up and running.

He observed that the new media had brought another avenue for talented individuals to create a platform on which they could even reach a wider audience while making money.

In order for comedians to make their crafts known, Dr. Abusua proposed that they do various skits and use TikTok and YouTube as avenues to get a token for their hard work.

He also used the opportunity to announce that he was on TikTok and YouTube and urged fans to subscribe and share for his comedy to be widely known while helping him make money from those social media avenues.
