Ghana Women’s Premier League champions, Ampem Darkoa Ladies, have made history as they booked their ticket to the semi-finals of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
Ampem Darkoa recovered from a setback in their second group game as they lost 3-0 to Malian champions AS Mande after they had overcome defending African champions AS Far Rabat of Morocco in their opening group game.
Tracy Twum exhibited her footballing prowess, scoring twice, as Gnabekwan N-Yanyimaya added another goal to ensure Nana Mmaa made history.
Tracy Twum opened the scoring in the 8th minute with an expertly-struck free-kick before the Equatorial Guinea side had a good opportunity to equalize in the early minutes of the second half.
Ampem Darkoa extended their lead through Tracy Twum again in the 72nd minute with a well-timed rebound as Gnabekwan N-Yanyimaya sealed the victory with the third goal in the 88th minute.
Huracanes FC managed a late consolation as Ebenya Esombe scored in stoppage time.
Ampem Darkoa Ladies finished as the group winners with six points.
