“I’m not smiling. Oh…you really think she likes me? You know what girls think? Hey, you’re much too young to be thinking about what girls think.”
Don Emilio is disappointed that Tomas hadn’t been the one who had been killed in the scuffle at the national penitentiary. He however takes comfort in the fact that Cardo would eventually do his bidding for him. Soon enough, he and his jackass grandson discuss how they’re going to set up a deposit in Cardo’s name amounting to millions of pesos coming from a drug lord. Andrea spies. Jackass catches her and she lies her way out. She then reports back to Verna. About having heard absolutely nothing. Go figure.
While Tomas basks in his triumph, the Manager thinks back to how he had been saved by Douglas after being cornered by the police. In another confrontation, he surrenders to the police after his family fall victim. Presently, he vows to take back everything Tomas has taken from him. Whatever the hell that means.
Andrea helps Verna carry on with her pretense as her son is approaching her room. Jackass comes to spout some crap before leaving. Verna considers finding out what’s been keeping him busy so she could prevent him from doing it. Meanwhile, Cardo plans on taking Benny and the kids out to the zoo tomorrow. Alyana included.
Don Emilio and Joaquin the jackass meet up with a rotten bank manager where Cardo is saving at. The miserable swine plans to open a checking account in Cardo’s name, eager, glad and ready to manipulate the system. Promising to provide any evidence they would need, the despicable woman spouts some BS and asks to be paid double for her generous deed.
Tomas confronts Brando over having lied to him about his drug supplier. Since the Manager is crippled after losing Douglas, Brando and his men side with Tomas. While Alyana has a baseless conversation with her dad about the honesty and loyalty of Cardo and his late father, Cardo lies in bed, drooling over his dinner date with Alyana.
“What are you smiling about?” Onyok asks.
“I’m not smiling,” Cardo says. “I’m just thinking about our outing tomorrow.”
Onyok however won’t be fooled. “Oh…I know you’re thinking of Miss Alyana.”
“I’m not, “Cardo claims, smiling.
“You’re excited about Miss Alyana,” Onyok teases.
“Hey, you’re much too young for that stuff. Let’s go to sleep.”
Glad to know that he’s now the new lord in prison, Tomas promises to bring in a batch of fresh supplies of drugs. Meanwhile, Cardo and the rest of the family begin making plans for grandma Flora’s birthday which would be coming on the next day. In no time, Cardo goes to the mall to buy an aircon as a gift for his grandma. While he pays for what’s on sale, a miserable woman comes to talk him into participating in a bogus raffle. Ignorant of the fact that he’s buying a brand new car with his “protection money”, Cardo proceeds to sign the damn thing.
Cardo has a moment with Alyana
Cardo takes out Benny and the kids to the zoo. Alyana soon joins them and they go around the place, taking turns feeding an elephant and all. They then make a stop at where some monkeys are in display and caged in. Cardo teases Benny, telling him that he must be happy seeing his relatives. The monkeys. Alyana thanks Cardo for bringing her along to relax, mentioning how happy he’s made her. Eventually, they take some pictures with some couple of colorful parrots. While Benny is busy playing with the kids, Cardo gives Alyana a rose.

“This is so pretty,” Alyana says. “Thanks a lot. What does this really mean?”
Cardo returns her smile. “You know what I mean.”
” Does this mean that…you’re courting me?”
“…something like that.”
Tomas has a run-in with the Manager, and he offers him the opportunity to be his ally and benefit or keep on fighting if he so wishes. A battle of words ensues, with Ramil declaring that the fight has been personal ever since he killed Douglas.
“The one whom you treated as though he was your own son? “ Tomas taunts. “You should have warned him earlier enough not to try messing with me.”
“Don’t tell me what to do.”
“I’m offering you a chance to make a choice. Money. Or bloodshed. Think it over.”
Cardo brings Alyana home and on her signal, he informs her family about his desire and asks the Arevalos for their permission to court their daughter. Virgie is the first to give her approval. Teddy does same, though somewhat reluctantly. JP is most excited and Cardo proceeds to invite them to his grandma’s upcoming birthday party. Meanwhile, that miserable woman delivers the supposed raffle to the lapdogs of Joaquin the jackass.
Onyok mentions the good time he had at the zoo, declaring his support for Alyana since she’s been so nice to them. As Cardo indulges him, the little boy mentions how he’s noticed that Alyana likes him.
“Oh…you really think she likes me?” Cardo asks, amused.
“Of course. Believe me. I know what girls think.”
“You know what girls think? Hey, you’re much too young to be thinking about what girls think.”
“Just kidding.”
The next morning, Cardo assembles the neighbors and begins planning to turn his grandma’s birthday into a fiesta. Yolly then charges them to keep it a secret from Flora. Alyana decides to collaborate with her dad – while he writes about crooked cops, she would be focusing on the honorable ones, namely, Cardo. Meanwhile, Cardo greets his grandma and steps out, saying that he has some work to do at the office. Flora is saddened, thinking he’s forgotten that it’s her birthday.
With Flora having left for the town hall, Cardo and the others begin preparing various dishes. Elmo worries about how they’re going to cook karikari since only the celebrant and Ador are the experts. Yolly suggests that Cardo hire a chef for that.
“I hired a chef who would help us,” Cardo declares. “Someone beautiful and…sexy.” A taxi soon pulls over and Cardo announces the arrival of the beautiful and sexy chef he had hired. You got that right. It’s none other than Alyana.
A doctor who probably doesn’t know how to do her job informs Joaquin the jackass that his mother’s condition is still not improving. She rambles some crap and suggests that he have Verna talk to his dad to trigger a response. Without wasting time, the jackass proceeds to take his mother to see Tomas in his personal palace. Though everything that comes out of Tomas’ mouth seems to upset Verna, she has no choice but to listen and suffer in silence.
Delfin has a talk with Carreon about the list of corrupt officials the PNP chief had asked him to come up with, regarding any involvement with drugs. He mentions Joaquin and his connection to his dad, though having no evidence to support Cardo’s suspicion of him. After Andrea takes Verna out of Tomas’ personal palace, Joaquin informs his despicable father that everything is set to initiate their plan.
