Famed evangelist, Diana Asamoah, has lauded parliament for passing an anti-gay bill to sanction lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people in the country.

According to her, the passage of the bill has in many ways proven that parliamentarians also feared God.

Speaking exclusively on Max Morning Dew in Accra on Friday, the songstress mentioned that the bill had equally proven that pastors were not the only people who worked upon the precepts of God.

“Ghanaians had been talking against parliamentarians for not passing the LGBTQ bill, but now they have passed it to prove that not only those who stand before the pulpit are the only people who fear God,” she said.

Diana Asamoah indicated that she has realized that the leaders in the country have good divine spirits and have proven critics wrong.

Though she could not confirm whether the president would approve the bill or not due to its consequences on the rights of those who wanted to be lesbian, gay, transgender, or bisexual, Diana charged Ghanaians to wait and see how the president would handle the bill.

She insisted that LGBTQ+ was an act against God and vehemently said God despised the act and was glad the bill had finally been passed.

“We thank God; it’s now passed because God despised the act. For this one, I will thank our leaders for passing the bill, as they have proven that they have good spirits in them, Diana added.
